Polka Theatre reopens after £8.5m refurbishment

Re-imagining what a dedicated children’s theatre could and should be, the extensive transformation of Polka Theatre in Wimbledon, aims to improve the quality and functionality of the existing space, providing a vibrant hub for the local community and beyond.


The state-of-the-art renovation includes a new early year’s theatre, a new rehearsal and development studio, and a creative learning studio aimed at children with sensory needs, as well as improved access throughout. The building also includes a café, shop, and venue space for private hire, providing economic sustainability to ensure the theatre’s longevity for future years.

Trafalgar Theatre restored to Art Deco Glory after a major multi-million pound restoration

Foster Wilson Size have completed a major restoration of Trafalgar Theatre, a beautiful, grade II listed, art deco theatre located in central London. Work includes the re-instatement of the single 630 seat auditorium and restoration of the decoration in black and silver, with bronze and gold metallic tints.

Dame Rosemary Squire, co-CEO of Trafalgar Entertainment said: “Trafalgar Theatre is steeped in cultural significance and has been lovingly restored back to its original heritage design. During the restoration process there was great care and attention to detail with all the design elements and we carried out huge amounts of research to ensure that the renovation was authentic in terms of design and style.”
