Studio

Foster Wilson Size is an award-winning architectural practice with an international reputation for the design of public buildings and creative spaces. To each project, we bring a deep understanding of what makes creative spaces work and an ambition to bring positive change for the communities we serve.

We are a friendly, close-knit studio based in Hoxton, Central London. We enjoy the process of design and enjoy a challenge. We collaborate with our clients to help achieve their ambitions and create exciting spaces and beautiful new buildings. Our work ranges in scale from small community projects to large new buildings for household names. Sometimes we build from scratch but, more often than not, our work involves adapting existing and historic buildings for future use. We work close to home, across the country and around the globe. We are an inclusive work-space that embraces diversity. We run regular work placement schemes for inner city schools to encourage wider access into the profession.

To reduce carbon emissions, our industry needs to change the way it designs and builds. Our projects are ground-breaking in the creative re-use of existing buildings and carbon reduction. We continue to research and implement ways in which carbon emissions can be avoided. The practice is a signatory of the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge and Architects Declare a Climate Emergency.

Our projects have won many awards including RIBA Awards, Royal Fine Arts Building of the Year, Civic Trust, RICS and USITT Awards.
